Anam Zafar
I am a freelance translator, editor and workshop facilitator. I translate and edit literature, academic papers and for businesses/international organisations. I have delivered creative translation workshops in schools and at literature festivals. I regularly speak on panels about being a literary translator.
I have worked on many different projects and with many different clients as a language specialist, including translating for top publishers, such as Penguin Random House, on adult’s nonfiction and children’s books, and for various UN organisations. I am currently engaged in conversations with others in the linguist community about how to adapt in the face of AI, and how to improve working conditions and pay for literary translators.
