Anna Karsten

After graduating from Exeter with a BA Hons in Greek and Roman Studies, I completed a PGCE at Cambridge University in Classics. Having taught Classics, History and English for four years in two different state schools, I decided to head to North Carolina to teach and travel for two years. This insight and understanding of education in the USA has been invaluable in a number of situations since. I returned to Britain and completed Masters degree before heading back into the classroom. In my current school I have been afforded a number of opportunities in my career including being a PGCE mentor, running our charity fundraising  activities, sitting on the management  committee of Cambridge School Classics project, overseeing Bronze DofE and running the Classics department. I am now Teaching and Learning Lead Teacher with responsibility for trainee teachers and Early Career teachers as well as our pupil mentoring scheme.
