Charlie Taylor

I fell in love with Exeter the moment I arrived on Streatham campus, and the opportunity to study a combined honours degree in two languages I was passionate about confirmed it was the right choice for me. After graduating, I pivoted away from languages and began my career at a leading accountancy firm, qualifying as an ICAEW Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA). I spent nearly ten years working in business tax compliance, primarily advising internationally owned and private equity-backed businesses. I’ve since moved into industry as a Tax Reporting Manager at a FTSE 100 company, responsible for global tax reporting across areas including international compliance, transfer pricing, and financial reporting for tax. What I enjoy most is the variety – no two days are the same, and I’m continually learning across jurisdictions and technical areas. I’m happy to advise on routes into accountancy and finance, including pursuing a career unrelated to your degree, the ACA journey, and transitioning from practice to industry.
