Irene Wyndham

Exeter University was the door that opened out to my future career. I studied modern languages and philosophy and gained an MA by Research (M LITT) on Simone de Beauvoir in 1977. My passion was broadcasting and I started at BBC Radio Bristol. From there I moved to Radio 3 and 4 and Ultimately BBC TV in the South West. Here ITV gave me a tempting offer with a wide range of programmes Wanting to use my languages , I went to France to work for EURONEWS and then to Germany (ARD) to spend 2 years presenting and reporting in German in Current Affairs. Now I am totally freelance, chairing Environmental conferences, media training in Europe and working on French local radio since we have chosen to spend lots of time in France.
