I started studying law in Exeter in 1992, with an LLB (Euro with German) degree. I followed that up with an LLM in European Legal Studies in 1996/1997 and a PhD in European Law in 1992. I joined City law firm SJ Berwin in 2002, and qualified into their EU & Competition Department in 2004. In 2011, I moved in-house, to Siemens AG in Munich, Germany, and since 2019 I have been with Siemens Energy, one of the world’s leading energy technology companies. I am Principal Counsel Competition at Siemens Energy in Munich (Germany). In this position, I advise Siemens Energy on a worldwide basis on all aspects of Competition Law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, collaborative and other horizontal and vertical arrangements, cartel investigations, antitrust-related corporate governance and compliance, competition litigation and state aid matters. I also advise on foreign direct investment (FDI) matters as well as on the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation. Myexperience covers the complete range of the Siemens Energy product and services portfolio. I was part of the team that won “Best Competition Team” at the Lexology European Counsel Awards 2024 in London in March 2024.
