My work for Exeposé led me to a job in print and digital design. From there, I trained up in UX (user experience / web) design following a part-time online course. I then got a job as a UX designer for a financial services company, and have now moved to doing a similar role for the British Film Institute – working most recently on a redesigned cinemas ticketing website among others. The job is great for problem solvers, especially those who combine creativity and logic. There’s lots of psychology involved, as well as a skill at diplomatically working with stakeholders. And then it helps to have strong empathy for people who might use the websites you build.
